Unpublished: Anguilla

I’ve been a bad blogger lately- but there are  big  huge announcements on the horizon, so stay tuned. Lately I’ve been flipping through my unpublished stories and wanted to share some gems that were shelved. I especially love these pictures we took on our honeymoon in Anguilla,  they are so beachy and perfect for this time of year. While vacation season is hardly in full swing, I can’t help but get inspired for this summer’s adventures.

We stayed at the Viceroy, which was like a dream– a gorgeous property split between two beaches with three pools, many bars and deadly rum punch. I was careful to only pack the essentials: a few swimsuits, kaftans, shorts, a few dresses and a great sun hat. I also kept it light in the beauty department. Aside from sunscreen and BB cream, I hardly wore any makeup, but you can peep everything I brought with me here.

The vibe was calm and laid back– I usually just threw on a bathing suit, tunic and sunglasses. Most days were spent lazing poolside or adventuring to local beaches like Shole bay. We also took a boat out to a private island and explored some of the hidden cliffs.  The water is so clear it looks like pure cerulean blue straight out of the tube. In the evenings we worked up an appetite. Jacala and Blanchards are two of our favorite restaurants on the island and just a short walk on Meads Bay from the hotel. But Blanchard’s Beach Shack was the absolute best. The shack had such a great menu we went back three times.. Karl was into the blackened mahi bites and their bowls were addictive.

Now I’m planning my summer holidays, looks like we will be heading stateside in July!
