Whether you're escaping to the Hamptons for a long weekend or being whisked away to St. Barths, packing for Memorial Day can be stressful. It's the weekend that makes it official that summer is coming and means you are that much closer to the covetable “summer Fridays” at the office. Lighten your load by packing the perfect beach beauty essentials, so you'll be prepared but can still squeeze that new pair of strappy sandals you just bought on Net a Porter into your weekender.
The Pre-Tan: Prep your skin with Organic Pharmacy’s all natural Self Tanner derived from Sugar Beet. Your gams will be bronzed before your toes even hit the sand.
The Sunscreen: The folks at Ren know a thing or two about good skin care. Their Satin Perfection BB Sunscreen offers the right mixture of coverage plus sun protection.
The Mascara: I’m not a big fan of wearing makeup to the beach but a light coat of waterproof mascara is a mess-free way to make your eyes pop. Luckily my favorite Givenchy Phenomen’Effet Ciels mascara comes in a waterproof version.
The Lip treatment: While you soak in the sun don’t forget about your kisser. Coat your lips with a healthy dose of your favorite natural lip treatment to keep them hydrated. I’m loving Cowshed’s Rose Geranium scented Lippy Cow.
The Polish: This weekend is all about bright nail lacquer. Put your vampy shades aside and paint your toes a popping hue. If you go for a swim in the ocean you might even attract a fishy friend with YSL neons Rose Renaissance and Vert D’Orient.
The After Sun Moisturizer: After a day in the sun your skin craves nourishment. Tatcha Gold Oil seals in moisture leaving your skin silky smooth. An added bonus is that the 24-karat gold flakes reflect the light highlighting your tan.

After months of preparation my latest collab with Refinery29 just went live. Yesterday R29 launched their super fun, user driven beauty platform, Beauty Nation. Tune in all year for a constant stream of everything beauty brought to you by the R29 editors and some select bloggers (ahem moi!).
