I caught up with the Tory Burch crew back in September during New York Fashion Week. I had just arrived for the shows that morning and taken a 6 am flight to the city. I went straight from the airport to the NoLita Tory Burch store to select an outfit for the shoot, and then hobbled off with my luggage and yawns to wash my face and change. Many thanks to the TB team for making me look decent on a day when I was half-awake! You can see the photos from our shoot and real the full interview. . .
On my latest trip to New York I caught up with designer Kaelen Haworth at her ridiculously gorgeous Bond Street loft. It was my first shoot after arriving on a 6 AM flight and Kaelen was so lovely. I got the deets on her latest projects, swoon-worthy beauty regimen (seriously-her skin is flawless) and of course got to play with Lola, her adorable pup. Enjoy!
Back in October while stuck inside during Hurricane Sandy and living off of Fruit Roll-ups I answered an email interview for the lovely Sabine of Glamour Paris, et voila! If you are in France you can pick up the February edition and see for yourself. For everyone else who doesn’t parler français no problem, I translated it below (with some additions in parenthesis).
Rose products are sprouting up everywhere I look. From decadent rose oil infused with twenty-four carat pink gold to more humble lip balms and scented candles; roses are staging a beauty take over. Throughout history they have been revered for their sweet scent; and thanks to science we now know that certain species of the flower are packed with vitamin C, soothe the skin, and may reduce skin damage and wrinkles. They have been coming onto the scene for a while with the occasional launch of a rose product but now brands like By Terry are creating entire ranges around the flower. So I’ve tested the market and compiled a list of new launches and old classics, here are some of my favorites:
Parisa: “We are launching Max Fowles Ready to Wear collection for Autumn/Winter 2012. I’m the Creative Director for the brand and we’ve been designing the collection for the past few years. It’s a small twenty-piece collection and we are really excited. When you get your first sale it’s the point where you feel like oh this works and it is so rewarding because you have a vision in your head but you don’t know how it will work until you get the feedback.”
“I’ve been modeling for like ten years so I don’t really need to work with an agency anymore which is cool. I still have one in Tokyo, Seoul, and Stockholm but not in New York. I also have a blog where I write about interesting things; mostly it all revolves around myself and people that I meet. When I was living in Tokyo I found writing to be much easier since everything felt new and different compared to New York. I’m actually going to be in Tokyo for all of January and blogging for Milk Made.”
I am not of the belief that there is one cream that if used 365 days a year will keep me looking tiptop. I subscribe more to the school that a lady must mix and match her beauty swag based on need and circumstance. Like most rules, though, this is not hard and fast—there is one face wash that I use religiously morning and night.
For FNO I kept it local, staying downtown and checking out some of my favorite brands. My first stop was the Chanel boutique. Their manicure bar was already in full gear with a line down the sidewalk pretty early in the evening. They were offering full service manicures featuring Chanel’s new denim themed nail collection—which looks incredible!
