In my latest work for I spent the afternoon at home sharing beauty tips with the sisters behind Swedish brand, House of Dagmar. These three babes have become arbiters of Scandinavian cool with their abstract prints and popping color combos. The trio dished on the details of their morning rituals, favorite red lipsticks and ultimate spa destinations. Here are some behind the scenes photos and the interview:

Sofia Wallenstam, Sales Director

“I start my day with a warm shower and Kiehl’s Orange Flower & Lychee Liquid Body Cleanser. Afterward I moisturize with Clarins Satin-Smooth Body Lotion. I have extremely sensitive skin so I have to be careful about which products I use. I love the Swedish serum Transderma M and apply that before using Kanebo Sensai face cream.”

“I prefer a really fresh and natural look, so I aim for radiant skin and a glowing complexion. So I always begin with a layer of Clarins Beauty Flash Balm.”

I use Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer as my base color. Dior Skinflash is the best concealer. Last I add Guerlain blush to highlight my cheekbones—and I’m ready to go!”

“When I have the time I love soaking for hours in the  bath. Afterwards I pile on  Laura Mercier’s Fresh Fig Soufflé body crème. It smells amazing and makes my skin super smooth and soft.”

Kristina (Tina)  Tjäder, Head Designer:

“It’s a circus at home getting the kids ready for school in the morning, so I savor my alone time before everyone is up. After a quick splash of cold water, I am finally awake. The first thing I do is apply a layer of Darphin Ideal Resource Serum. I let that absorb into my skin for a few minutes before reaching for Darphin Prédermine moisturizer.”

“I’m really into juicing and make my own at home every morning. My favorite recipe combines: cucumbers, celery and bananas. On a good day I get to drink this in peace flipping through the local Swedish paper before the rest of my family wakes up and the house  fills with noise!”

“I don’t wear much makeup, so I’m super picky about the makeup I do use. I start off with Chanel Vitalumière to even out my skin tone. I do love red lipstick; my favorite is L’Oréal Volcanic. My go-to fragrance is Acqua di Parma’s Colonia Assoluta. I’ve been wearing the scent for years.”

“When I go out at night, I have more time to spruce myself up. I pull out my Chanel eyeliner. It’s a deep black that lasts forever since it’s waterproof. I combine that with a gray smoky shadow. If I do a big eye look, I keep it light on my lips using a natural shade of lip gloss, like YSL Volupté Sheer Candy.”

Karin Söderland, Marketing Director

“Most weekday mornings consist of me running around with my toothbrush, collecting notes and inspiration images to bring in to work for the collection. After my shower I dry off my face and apply a serum. I recently started to use the new Swedish skin-care line Verso. I have become addicted to its Super Facial Serum and Day Cream. They are packed with high doses of retinol so they are great for their anti-aging properties.”

“On most days I make it out the door in five minutes so I do my makeup quickly. I absolutely cannot live without my Lancôme Rénergie Lift. I throw on a quick layer of mascara and use a nude lip moisturizer from Laura Mercier. If we go out to an event in the evening, I’ll wear a strong lip. I love Lancôme L’Absolu Nu in Cherry Lace.

“But no matter what, before I dash out the door I always make sure to throw on some perfume. Byredo makes such rich and engaging scents. I also love the home fragrances and adore Bois du Palais in the summer months. Before bed I use the Verso Night Cream and Foaming Cleanser. It is the best way to get the soft, smooth skin you need when living in the cold Scandinavian weather!”

“Traveling exposes me to some of the best spas,” Wallenstam said. “My current spa obsession is the Six Senses Soneva Gili in the Maldives; the treatments are amazing!” Söderland’s favorite hometown spa is at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm. “I always go there with a group of friends to relax after a long and busy week.” Tjäder prefers Hong Kong for her spa fix. “When I am away in Asia working with suppliers, I love to escape to the Spa at The Mira Hotel in Hong Kong; the products are incredible. It’s the perfect treat after a hard day of work.”
