“What I do is oversee all of the copy on the site, so I have editors and writers who work for me, I oversee all of the daily sale copy and email copy that happens on womens. We work on all of the social media streams, Instagram and Pinterest are my pet projects, those are very personally mine and then I do a lot of other interesting stuff working with the styling and creative teams. I also put together sales that are meant to help women get dressed, if they are looking for more styling advice and less being driven by a brand.

In the morning I play with my dog before I get out of bed because otherwise she wouldn’t forgive me! I get up and always wash my face with my Clarisonic. I switch between a few different cleansers. Right now I am using a ton of Kate Somerville skin care, which I love. La Mer is also a favorite, if I can get my hands on it. So I wash my face, and put on my Kate Somerville moisturizer and La Mer eye cream. I’m pretty religious about wearing SPF at some high number every day. I’m using the Dr. Jart Gold Label Premium BB Cream, which has an SPF of 45. It is incredible how well the sunscreen works because I wore it all summer and didn’t get as many freckles as I normally do. I’m totally obsessed with it. I even wear it on the weekends when I can hardly get myself to wear any makeup.

I use Hourglass Calligraphy Liquid Eye Liner, and do a thin line. I usually don’t do eye shadow unless I am going out at night, and then I start to sift through my many piles of shadows. Anything goes depending on what I’m wearing. I love warmer tones and golds. I have blonde eyelashes and light eyebrows so I always color those in. I go back and forth between using Diorshow and L’Oréal Voluminous Original Mascara. They are just good classics. I am a bit paranoid about eye infections, and feel like New York is so dirty so I switch tubes often.

I love a beautiful compact; I tend to just hoarde those, like all of the limited edition Lancôme packages where they just feel like little jewels. I love beautiful packaging, I want to display them. I am not the kind of person who wants to shove everything into a makeup bag and put it away. I love the thought and the care that went into packaging.

Whenever I go to Paris I buy twenty or thirty tubes of Labello and work my way through them over the course of the year. So there are a lot of days where it is just my Labello Fruity Shine or my YSLs, which give my lips a great hit of color but are not sticky. If it’s a more dramatic day, I love the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. I wear Tarte LipSurgence in Lively at night if I want something really intense (I tend not to wear that one during the day because it is so matte and pigmented).

I always have these huge knots under my hair in the wintertime. It is from all the scarves I wear. I love scarves so much that part of my evening is spent brushing and brushing my hair, like I’m Scarlett O’Hara, trying to get the knots out! Marie Robinson has been doing my hair color and I am fanatic. If I literally had no money, I think I would borrow money to go see Marie. It is amazing how she can look at someone and immediately know how their hair should look. She is so cool. Every time I’m with Marie, I just am like, “I want to be like you when I grow up.” So I’ve been seeing her for about ten years. No one is allowed to touch my color but Marie.

The thing I’ve gotten the most careful about as I’ve gotten older is making sure to take my makeup off. I also heavily moisturize my hands with Caudalíe hand cream. I love the Caudalie Spa at the Plaza; almost all my body care is by them. They have the greatest lip balm, which they get almost no credit for but is the greatest lip balm ever. Their hand cream is the only thing I’ve used for years, their facials are terrific and their massages are heaven. I used to live on the upper west side so I would go there and then kind of walk dazed through Central Park towards home, it was so nice. We work with Caudalie on the site, so I always stock up whenever they are on Gilt.”
