On my latest trip to New York I caught up with designer Kaelen Haworth at her ridiculously gorgeous Bond Street loft. It was my first shoot after arriving on a 6 AM flight and Kaelen was so lovely. I got the deets on her latest projects, swoon-worthy beauty regimen (seriously-her skin is flawless) and of course got to play with Lola, her adorable pup. Enjoy!

“This summer has been a lot of fun. I am spending weekends in the first half of the summer in Amagansett, NY, which is a nice escape. I’m also planning a few trips to Canada, maybe Bernuda, and Denver to visit family. Otherwise it’s work time! I’m on the grind.

I just did a collaboration with my friend Hannah Bronfman. We made a capsule collection of cool stuff for her to wear at Coachella that didn’t feel like a total style spiral into cutoffs and flower crowns. We’re selling it on my website right now (www.kaelennyc.com). I love collaborating with people, it’s my favorite part about the fashion community. So hopefully there will be something new on the horizon soon!

It’s taken me about ten years to find the perfect product line up but I have finally perfected it. I switched to an oil cleanser because it makes my skin feel like it’s finally balanced. I have combination skin, and the thought of cleansing with oil freaked me out a lot at first. But I use Tatcha One-Step Camellia Cleansing Oil all the time now and it feels right. I follow that up with Natura Bissé Cure Sheer Eye Cream, Dr. Sebagh Rose de Vie Serum and Natura Bissé Cure Sheer Cream with SPF 25. I switch things up all the time, but these products do exactly what I want them to do.

I’m not a big makeup wearer, although I own a Sephora’s worth of it. I think it’s fascinating but I never actually use it all. My staples are YSL Touché Eclat, NARS Exhibit A blush, and Tarte Amazonian Clay Mascara. I got the mascara in a gift bag after Fashion Cares one year and I am obsessed. It’s perfect. I don’t wear eyeliner often, but if I want to emphasize my eyes I’ll grab a Chanel Chubby stick (so easy! no brushes!) or MAC eyeshadow in Embark. I like Dark browns without glitter or shimmer in them. The MAC shade is perfect because it immediately looks like you put thought/time into the process when really I just put it on with my fingers in thirty seconds.

I’m a lipstick girl all the way! Since I never wear eyeliner, it’s so easy to look pulled together in zero time with a lipistick. I feel like I’m really driving home the message that I hate to spend a lot of time making my face look pretty. Which is true but I also am a girly girl and love using new products. I love OCC’s Lip Tar. It stays on forever and the colors are SO bright. I also love the Stila Lip Stains. They dry very matte and will not come off for love or money. I still haven’t decided if that’s a pro or con.

I’m into lotions as fragrance in the summer months. I use Goe Oil on my skin, which smells amazing. I also use Leilani Bishop roll-on fragrance oils in Lilac and Pikake. In the fall and winter I wear Le Labo perfume – they do limited editions per city that you can only get in the store. Since they sell such a small amount it doesn’t feel like everyone in the world smells the same. The best part is that if you keep the bottle they’ll remake it for you.

My nighttime beauty routine is basically the same as my morning routine, except that I swap out the Natura Bissé tinted products for Dr. Sebagh Night Cream and Fresh Black Tea Eye Cream. If I have some time and it’s not 4 am (in which case the ‘routine’ is to sleep), I will use Eve Lom Cleanser. It’s another oil based cleanser that you use with a warm muslin cloth.  It feels incredible – you apply the cleanser and then press a warm muslin cloth into the skin. It feels like a facial in five minutes.”
